In 1927 he had his first one man show. During this time of his life he was producing about 1 piece of art each day. Rene would look at others artists art work and put his own surrealism twist to them. He went to school at the Academie des Beaux-Art in Brussels.
Rene was born to a wealthy manufacturer father. In 1912 his mother passed away suddenly. During Rene's early life, after getting married to his wife Georgette Berger, he used his free time to pursue his artistic endeavors. He worked on a number of surrealistic pieces during this time.
